Since the release of “Devil’s Advocate” in Poland, 5 years have passed. It is also available in Audioteka, where he received 10 comments. Three listeners added their own opinions, for which I thank you very much:
“Great reading, even for some of the lawyers already helmed.”
“A good book, half a stitch less due to the fact that it is not adapted to the realities prevailing in pl.”
“Kind of obvious things, yet revealing.”
The original title of the book is: “Devil’s Advocate. A short polemic on how to be seriously good in court.” Problems were caused by the word “polemic”: do you translate them Polish as “polemic” or else and how? The solution was proposed by Mr. Tadeusz Jacewicz, who suggested the word “TREATY”. I immediately picked it up. The first time I encountered the word “treatise” in primary school was when we discussed in a Polish language lesson an excerpt from a book entitled “Treatise on the Good Robot” – T. Kotarbiński. The title of the reading read: “OR do something.” I didn’t know why this title was broken in front of me because I understood it like, “Do something OR not do something.” I didn’t know why there was a word “something” instead of “something” at the end. It turned out that OR stands for imperative mode from the verb “LIKE”. I will return to T. Kotabiński.
