American Guides

At some point in my life, I discovered American guides. Unfortunately, it was quite late. More specifically, it was fortunately quite late. I read a lot of guides: “How to make friends and get people together..” D. Carnegie. But also other authors: B. Tracy, N. Hill and many others, including those like NLP for idiots, psychology for bullies, time management, self-management and world management. These guides have one advantage: they are read wonderfully and they take the reader into a wonderful world. They also have one drawback: they are read wonderfully and take the reader into a wonderful world.

It’s worse when we want to apply these wonderful thoughts to the real world. I will give you an example: D. Carnegie writes: “The most expensive thing for anyone is his name. So ask everyone by name and let everyone turn to you by name.” The client, whom I suggested to speak my name, after three days turned to me per “Piotrek” and cursed as if we were at a disco polo party.

I myself wrote to a lady patron an e-mail in which I addressed her per Mrs. Grażyno / Krystyno. Ms. Mecenas replied to me: “I do not have the habit of shortening the distance. So please turn to me per Lady Patron.” I apologized. I stopped reading American guides.
