In 2003, a lengthy article was published in Plus Minus that N. Davis wrote: he claimed that the Second Iraq War would last much longer than the Vietnam War. He explained, among other things, that the desert is a worse place to wage war than the Vietnamese jungle. The conclusions of the article were grim. I read this article on SATURDAY and thought about it ALL SATURDAY AND ALL SUNDAY. I took over. Because I quietly hoped that the Iraq War would end quickly. But here’s monday’s tv news reported: Iraq CAPITULATED and The War IS OVER. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I suspected it was fake news.
