G. H. Grudziński said: “Now that I am 80 years old, I am witnessing the expiry of totalitarianism and the birth of faith in new opportunities for development, such as the UN UNITING OF EUROPE. I am not a black-eyed man, but I have kept the awareness that, despite these positive changes, the danger still hangs over our heads.

Who today says – like the American columnist FUKUYAMA – that the story is over, is … naïvy man. Suffice it to mention that shortly after the publication of the prophecy of this “prophet”, a war broke out in the Balkans, which was a classic show of totalitarianism… I would like young people to be aware that we continue to live in a dangerous world, believing in the progress of humanity. This was perfectly defined by B. Russel in his beautiful sketch “Portrait of Conrad”.

We must remember that we walk on a thin layer of ice, which can break down at any time. Conrad remembered this in his work.” Every lawyer, and especially a trial lawyer, must remember that an administrative and judicial case is a test of how a single person is really treated: whether or not the case turns into something that P. Zimbardo called lucifer effect and F. Kafka “Process”. For the New Year I wish everyone and myself such wise guides as: Conrad, Russel, Grudziński, Kafka and Zimbardo.
